TODD BARNES
Position: Facilitator
Challenge Name: Captain Todd
Todd is a character, an outdoorsman, hunter, goal setter and achiever. After working on the course for two years, we’ve found there is nothing that can keep this man down. Through the use of humor, he fosters high levels of participation and teamwork.

ODIE BROCK
Position: Instructor
Challenge Name: (we’re still working on that)
The newest member of our team has a thirst for volunteerism, community, developing teamwork, fostering communication, team development and more. Odie enjoys team projects, being active and having fun. He can usually be found hanging out with his wife and chasing his critters around (4 children and 2 dogs) or pretending he’s still young enough to play sports.

MATT FORTES
Position: Facilitator
Challenge Name: Phatt Matt “…with a PH”
Matt’s use of humor makes him a effective and fun facilitator impacting both adults and youth. He has a great gift in creating a comfortable learning environment that helps individuals find themselves, hidden talents, and promotes natural team development.

RANDY LAWRENCE
Position: Facilitator
Challenge Name: Handy Randy
22 years in the Air Force taught me the valuable lesson that our greatest mission is to support our community. Support takes multiple forms, from a simple reaching out to our neighbors and showing verbal appreciation to an all out commitment taking invaluable time. Simply put: Positive input makes our world a better place to live in.

JANELL LELAND
Position: Facilitator
Challenge Name: Janell the Gazell
Janell loves nature walks, recreating in and near water, and to nurture plants and people. As a mother of eight, she has 20+ years of experience facilitating small groups. As an encourager, she is passionate about helping people overcome fears, lies, and obstacles from their past. She finds her rope course work rewarding due to it’s positive environment that lead individuals to work together, become empowered and grow in confidence. Janelle is developing a program where interested teams can parallel course experiences with scripture.

STAN LELAND
Position: Facilitator
Challenge Name: Stan the Man
Enjoys life on the edge of the comfort zone. Is a member of the Airborne Demonstration Team—a WWII paratrooper unit. He’s made 6 jumps from a C-47 (as of Jun 09) and keeps going back. He follows the works of John Eldridge; especially Wild At Heart. Stan brings his zest for life to our outdoor classroom.

TREVOR LELAND
Position: Instructor
Challenge Name: Clever Trevor
An outdoor enthusiast that loves working with youth—is in his 5th year of leading teams of Youth groups. Trevor is a song writer, a musician, and inspired by the works of bands like U2, Coldplay, Counting Crows, and Hillsong United. Trevor is a senior at Steele High School and has been with Discovery Challenge since the first pole was put in the ground.

JOHN LINEWEAVER
Position: Facilitator
Challenge Name: Johnny Cash
John brings and applies his 45 years of life experience to every event. John has a heart as big as our climbing wall when it comes to working with youth and those additionally challenged by unfortunate life circumstances.

BOB TULLGREN
Position: Director
Challenge Name: Big Bob
Over 23 years of experience working with a variety of populations of youth and adults. He shares a passion for the outdoors, team development, and from his strong Scouting and military background, injects a wide breadth of experience.

Favorite course activity: Helium Stick and tossing Tomahawks
KIM WEIS
Position: Facilitator
Challenge Name: Crafty Kim
Kim is a fireball of energy motivated by a deep commitment to community and the thrill of watching “individuals” form into a functioning “team”. She serves in the Air Force and brings a wealth of training and personal life skills to Discovery Challenge. Corporate, adults or youth teams make no difference to Kim as she does it all.

TREVOR WHEELER
Position: Instructor
Challenge Name: Talented Trevor
Recently graduated from high school and starting college. Trevor has been with us from the very start when we first started building Discovery Challenge and now working on facilitation. Trevor is athletic, has played soccer for 14 years, enjoys music and playing guitar. “Talented Trevor” enjoys seeing groups come together as a team.
